If it does happen, which I hope will not take place, but if it does it will most likely be the end of civilization, because Russia and its former soviet states are the only capable nation(s) to destroy the United States at this time. Other nations could scratch or tear the US, but they would be annhilated, so would Russia if it dared, so in response to your question with the knowledge that was coming. i don't know but here's how i think it will start
venezuela will decide that they are the rightful rulers (and only capable rulers) of the south american continent. as such they will invade country after coutry starting with Guyana and the other's quickl;y fall until only southern Argentina, uruguay, chile, and the dense forrest of brazil are left. simulatneously the VNC (Venezuelan norte Commande) well roll over panama and their northern neihbors getting stuck in Mexico City (which will become a historical 18 month battle akin to the battle of Stalingrad)

meanwhile, the U.S., not blind to what is happening, at the time of venezuela's invasion of Guyana lands a amphibious orce made up of the 24 MEU and elemants of the Airborne Fourth Brigade Combat Team (508th PIR) land in Linden and Intuni, Guyana. it seems as if the U.S. will quickly remove the venezuelan forces, until Iran, spurred by a message from president Chavez to President Ahmadinejad, attacks israel to take focus off of the S. american crisis. U.S. responds by firing tomahawk missles into iran egpyt, syria, yemen, sudan, and lebanon all invade israel and are repelled in what becomes known as the 96 hour war, us forces not tied down in iraq or afghanistan invade sudan and egypt (currently under the control of a new regime with ties to the islamic brotherhood who siezed power 5 days earlier), and route their respective militaries.

still with the us engaged in numerous conflicts the chinese see an opportunity and invade taiwan, finally taking back what they believed was always theirs. Russia also takes advantage of the situation by invading ukraine and georgia. new zeland tired of being now as the sheep capital of the workd and lord of the rings (are you still reading this? can you believe i've typed this long?) invades melborne from port phillip hoping the audacious move from lead to a quick victory over the whole of australia, and forever establishing the legacy of the great new zealand empire.
africa also erupts at this time in what seems to outsiders as a random popcorn explosion of civil war and genocide ordered on an almost unimaginable scale.
canada not wanting to be left out of the picture (as is usually the case) invades the queen elizabeth islands, only to later discover no one lives there, it's a frozen waste land, and oh yeah it belongs to canada.

then the u.s. beats venezuela, africa calms down, the middle east goesback to the staus qoute, russia and china relax, and new zealand comes to terms with being ruled by the Australians.

and collectivley the world catches its breath and asks itself, "what the Fu*ck just happened?"
