If he/she is of similar socio economic background, parents are of similar socio economic background (example - college educated professionals). Do you and your "intended" share religous beleifs? Some people are more faithful to the tenents of their religion and make common religion an important qualification in courtship.
Socio-economic backgrounds
Religions/denominations
Are his/her parents married? Another big factor. Boys and girls who have grown up without fathers often have difficulties establishing healthy relationships with the opposite sex.
Do you and your intended have similar attitudes towards school?
Do you have common or at least complementary interests?
Family involvement in courtship is more important to some young people than others. So, do not be offended or freaked out if his or her parents want to meet you early on.
If you are from a well-to-do family and your intended is from a more modest background, you may not really speak the same social language. There are MANY factors other than the mushy-gushy "follow your heart" type advice you may recieve in here.
Do not betray your upbringing and follow your heart. "Follow your heart" is the same as mistaking infactuation for love. Your HEAD has as much a part in deciding who you will go out with, and ultimatly marry.
Just don't rush things. USE YOUR HEAD. Thought plays as big or bigger role in deciding who you will date.

you know you have asked the right person out if your constantly thinking of him/her. The chemistry must have been there ,at least on your part if you asked them out.
once your going out you will know if you asked the right person out if ,after you get to know them ,and their quirks you still want to be with them.
If you decide you don't want to be with them then you didn't ask the right person.

You don't. That's one of the points of dating. You're supposed to get to know each other better and see if it's worth pursuing a deeper relationship. No picking out china patterns or wedding invitations just yet, ok?

You don't. Thats why is called dating. You go out with someone til you can't stand them anymore and realize that you need to find someone else. Eventually you find one that is best for you.

Life is too short to be wasting time asking "is she the one". All you're doing is going out w/ her. It's not like you're going to marry her or something.

There's this feeling, this unexplainable feeling deep down in your heart that tells you she's the one. And if she feels the same about you, she'll go out with you.
