Vegetable oil, not that I'm aware of.
Olive oil, yes.
When rubbed on skin in moderate amounts olive oil can help retain moisture and softness. I do it every other week on dry areas (elbows, knees, feet) and it makes my skin softer but not greasy. Normally I do it after a bath or shower. Rub a VERY SMALL amount on, let it sit for a few minutes and pat dry with a clean towel.
Be warned that for some, it causes breakouts and blotchy skin.
When used in cooking, its questionable whether or not it would effect your skin, vegetable oil isn't the best for you. If you want to know what foods will make your skin look better, go for salmon.

Funny you should ask this, cuz I was wondering a while ago. I noticed my hands were particularly dry anytime I was in the kitchen doing some cooking or cleaning dishes or whatever.
So I started rubbing a little bit of my vegetable oil in my palms and my fingers once they go dry and suddenly am noticing the change. My hands are more subtle, beautiful and my nails are growing longer too!

Dog Shampoo has chemicals that help flea protection, ect. This gives quite a few dogs dry, flaky skin. Some dog owners feed their dogs different things to help the skin moisture levels. I recommend using baby magic shampoo. Its very gentle and tested much more than dog shampoo. Its easier to change shampoos than to chase your dog around with eggs, mayo, fish oils, etc.

Inside or outside? I think that olive oil is the very best for the inside and the outside. I use olive oil for the delicate area under the eyes to moisturize at night. I also cook with cold pressed extra virgin olive oil. I think it is the best oil on the market.
