Im going crazy, my aunt never EVER wants to get off the phone, we talk and talk and I just set the reciever down half the time. I love her but all she talks about is like my future and stuff, REALLY ANNOYING, do you know any serious ways to stop a conversation and FAST

Its called the broken record or the structured repeat but whatever name you want to call this technique by, it is extremely effective. Simply repeat over and over that you need to go right now you have some things you need to get done. She starts another sentence, you say "I need to go right now. I have some things that I need to get done." She goes on. You say. "I really really need to go right now, I have some things that need to get done." It's amazing how that works. You don't even need to say exactly what needs to get done. Just keep repeating that phrase because after all she is intruding on your time and you do have some things that need to get done even if you don't know what they are at that moment.

..Get caller I.D. then tell her that you were on your way out, and you'll have to cut the conversation short.Or well that's nice, I got to go now..Love ya....Hang up.Sounds like she is excited about what you are doing with your life.That's a good Aunt....

this works perfect, you start talking and hang up on yourself, she will think you got disconnected, if the phone rings back dont answer it, or better yet leave it off the hook for awhile.
