The only time coffee pots wear out is when they quit working/ you may not have used enough water to rinse out the coffee maker \after the vinegar cleaning .
I have done that before, not let the water run through enough after the cleaning.

I made coffee and then went on a no caffeine kick. Gaah! Two weeks later I realized that the grounds were still in the coffee maker and everything was moldy. No amount of cleaning has helped. I would buy a new one, natural filters, a coffee grinder, and good, whole bean coffee that you grind everyday.

actually, some people prefer their coffeepot that way. the build up of the natural coffee oils can enhance the flavor of your brew over time. i even know people that don't wash their coffeemugs, just a quick rinse so they don't lose the oils built up.
brew your coffee with fresh cold water, really cold water, and remove it from the burner as soon as it's done brewing. the remaining drips from the coffeemaker are only drawing out the leftover bitterness of the beans, making your whole pot of coffee bitter.

have faith it or not any style of de-greaser takes the stains off of coffee pots. unsure why this works even though if it does. additionally the denture cleaners artwork. you could soak a coffee pot with bleach water, rinse properly...then attempt the degreaser and you will see how plenty extra it gets out. So I basically use degreaser and rinse properly.
