It partly depends on the age of the dog. Puppies need a ton of exercise, especially if they're teething, or they become destructive. I have two lab-mixes (one is a puppy) and if I can't walk them for 45 min-1 hour daily, I take them to day care for part of the day.

I've seen lazy Beagles and hyper ones..depends on your dog. Just spend a 1/2 hr a day outside w/him tossing a ball, or chase, the frisbee, a stick. Go for a brisk walk. I have corgis and when its muddy or too cold to spend alot of time outside and they are cooped up I put them on the treadmill...yes the treadmill. They love it. I have them start at a walk then a brisk walk to a jog for about 15 to 20 minutes and then cool them down w/a walk again. I does the trick and keeps them fit. Corgis are prone to being overweight so I want to prevent this.

I find that Dogs like random play times throughout the day. I walk my dog morning and evening and then come home at lunch to play. I feel bad for her being at home. You should also find out if there are any area dog parks.

i wouldn't push the puppy too much if it's a puppy.....i think you should do something else like walk a mile or run a mile never over push because the thing will get sore

i own a pitbull and if a pitbull walks for an hour it will be sore!!

2 hours of walking would be a nice amount of exercise.
