If alcohol supresses appetite then why do I get the munchies when I drink?

I've never heard that alcohol surpresses the appetite. I've heard that it surpresses emotion--as a drug, it's a depressant.

you don't get the munchies from drinking, it's the weed your smoking.lol I know that for sure.
