I have a friend (a girl) that is 16... she is dating (a guy) an 18year old... They have NOT and will NOT engage in sexual activity until they are both of the age... Is there a problem with the ages??? If the parents have no problems with them dating each other is it a pedafile if they are 2years apart?!??!?! NEED MAJOR HELP!!! I don't think anybody would consider that pedophilia, but they are wise to refrain from sexual activity until they are both over the age of consent in their jurisdiction.
A pedophile is someone with a sexual attraction to children. A two-year differential means they are contemporaries.

i will say from experience 2 yrs is not a big deal. I was 14 and my first was a 24 yr old That is a pedafile!! I now have 4 kids and i would freak and probably kill the older one if i was the parent. Again i dont see anything wrong with two yrs now. After you turn 21 you can date a 50 yr old if you want cause your an adult.

I would say that they are both responsible for their actions and as long as they AREN'T having sexual relations then it's fine, if they are dating for the right reasons. Now it's not a problem to date older people, it's good they are saving themselves for after they turn 18, that is the best part! Keep up the virginity! My spouse is 42 and I am 38 and we are still in love after 20 yrs, why couldn't they be? I don't have a site to go to, but you could call Dr. Laura on this one! She is the best one to ask, and I trust her on it, period.

No. A pedophile is an older person who victimizes/rapes/molests little kids. There is nothing wrong with an 18 yr old dating a 16 yr old, especially if they are not having sex,and parents approve.

Pedos are into pre-pubescent(s) and will act on it if they can, under 13 usually. Most countries over 16 is perfectly legal and fine, only v. few uptight moralistic countries set 18 limits.

If they're both on the same maturity level, it wouldn't be pedophilia. 2 years is nothing, pedophiles are fully grown adults who chase young children.
If they aren't even engaging in any sexual activities, it especially can't be pedophilia.
