Well I was wondering because I am 21 and my mom treats me like I'm a child. Whenever I tell her I'm going to go and spend time with my boyfriend she gets an attitude and acts like awhole different person. I've been going through this ever since I've got of age and could go to clubs and such, I mean it's not just when I say I'm going to spend time with my b/f it's whenever I get ready to go somewhere. I just feel soo depressed it's like she wants to live my life when she's already lived her. I mean I can't take this no longer can someone please give me some type of advice please thanks...

I hear you, its like she wants you to be at home with her bored too. For the best result to save your relationship is to little by little start to pull away. Tell her less and less about your life. And don't ask her for stuff anymore, if you work save money and try be as independent as possible. Than she won't feel like she has all that control over you. But my mom is a traditional Mexican greedy lady that I still can't get away from. Good Luck!!!!

No one can make you feel anything if you don't want to. You feel depressed because you want to feel depressed. The only way to stop feeling depressed is just do it. Just stop. Unhinge your feelings from all events and put your feelings under your control. You say when you feel depressed (preferably, never). You say when you feel satisfied. You say when you feel pleasure. Other people do not tell you when to feel happy or depressed or satisfied.

The short answer is this...it is your response to your mother that is making you depressed.

The good thing is that you can control your response.

And if you are 21, why are you checking out with your mother when you leave?
