well plan and simple Brittany is using her time to be a dog if you will she is doing what all dogs do identifying the other dogs that have marked their territory you see she been taking out of her space she already knows the backyard .and you put her in gang territory some other dogs turf that she doesn't know so she must sniff too find out who's turf shes on .that's how dog identifier each other see we say hello or shake hands dogs sniff each others butt or where another dog has peed or pooped their nose dint forget either they remember the smell forever so if they do see that dog they already know what dog it is so let Brittany sniff until shes done then shell play at the park but remember like us humans we dint want to be on summonses turf we must check first to make sure no conflict understand love ya or if that doesn't work just unplug it

You might want to work on socializing your dog and a basic obedience class might be a good place to start. Some large Pet Stores have classes like this that are affordable. It helps to make quality time focusing on you and your dog's interaction and her interaction with others. Once she is socialized, taking her to a dog park may be a whole lot of fun for her.
When my dogs go to the dog park they are trained to come when I call them but if I don't I guarantee you they will be smelling everything, running all around, playing with other dogs and finding plenty of places to potty and leave their mark.
They each have very different personalities. They all have a huge amount of fun at the dog park.

Keep taking her out. Eventually she'll stop sniffing, don't fight her to stop let her sniff all she wants, and if play time is missed, take her home. Oh well, eventually she will be happier with play time then just sniffing. If this doesn't work, there is another technique you can try where you have to teach you dog that smelling is only OK when you say so, I'd try the first way first.

She wants to sniff everything because it smells so interesting to her, dogs noses are something like 1000 times better at smelling things than humans, so it's in her nature to want to smell a new place. Just let her sniff for as long as she wants, then she'll get tired of it after awhile and start to play with you again. She doesn't do this in the backyard because she has already memorized what it smells like and it's boring to her.

She probably smells other dogs and its a new territory for her so she might be more interested in that than playing with you. Its really not a problem. If you want to play with her you should just play where she usually plays.

she just wants to experience pastures new, in other words she is only doing what all dogs do and that is smell the scent of other dogs and wee on it so claiming it as her terriorty. she can play in her own yard anytime, take her out more and let her get used to other scents.

I would say she isn't familiar with the surroundings...keep going and eventually she will be ok with it.
