i have a wonderful daughter who i had bymyself and have raised by myself. He father is in jail and will be for a while. He and i are no longer together because we have chosen to live differnt life styles, he wants to continue the life that put him in prison and i want to be a good mother and raise my daughter right. I have found true love, and he is head over heels for my daughter as well. He has asked us to move with him across the country and I have accepted. I would like to ask her father to sign a paper releaving him of parental duties so my love and i can make a real family. I know in my heart moving is the right thing to do. But I dont' know how to go about asking her father to relincquish paternal rights?

tell your husband that, if he really loves your daughter, then he will let her go. sometimes it's best to just let go.

... and maybe start crying if he refuses. tears usually do the trick. :)

Just go to social services and request their help. Tell them the whole story and they will help. You will need a good attorney also to help you with this. From what I can tell I do not think the biological father will mind giving up his parental rights.

Just ask him if not serve him papers and if he is in jail, he wont have a chose. best move, but you will need legal counsel. it can be expensive but worth it,
