Sounds like the depression part of bp. Definitely let your doctor know you are feeling this way, despite the meds.

And don't listen to people on here who don't know what they are talking about. You are actually on very appropriate medications for bipolar...an antidepressant and a mood stabilizer (that has antidepressant effects as well).

If this lethargicness started before you went on these meds... one or both may not be a high enough dose, may not be the right med for you personally, may not have had enough time to work fully yet.

Neither one of the meds you are on typically cause drowsiness, but it is a possibility nonetheless. If this exhaustion did not begin until you started meds, it could be from them.

Bi-polar can effect its victims in very different ways, loss of energy is a very common effect however. I find that mt energy drain gets worse the more I give into it. Try to force your body to do slightly more then you feel like you can do, this will make you feel sleeper at first, but eventually may help give you more energy. Another thing is to discuss it with your doctor, your medications could have lost there potency, or could be the 'cause of your energy loss.

You may want to check your iron levels. To stay in bed all the time is dangerous and boring as you may miss out on something exciting in the world around you. Take lots of care and remember the world can only give back what you put in. Try to balance your energy into positive things and forget about being involved with negitive people and negitive energy. YOU are worth it.

You are taking the wrong meds. If you are getting these from a regular physician I urge you to seek a Psychiatrist who can help you determine the proper medication. Physicians arent always equipped to handle these problems and Psychiatrists are well equipped - diagnosis is important because the use of the wrong medication sometimes can lead to more serious symptoms. Which seems to be your case. This is a very dangerous situation whether you realize it or not. Also, the wrong medication can trigger bipolar episodes and make the condition even worse.
