Your childs name is unique because his mother have an unique soul. Thats you. Giving him a name so he doesn't blend in with the rest of the world will make him a special person. Giving him a name that is so common mean he will live up to that name. Giving him a name that isn't well know like the name anthony, means he is making a new definiton for that name. So people will stop whatever they are doing so they can snicker about your child name, you can say at least my son doesn't blend in with the rest of the town. Your child stands out and will make a great impact. To me, that sounds like an artist name of inspiration and heart.

I went to school with a Layton. (He is 27) He was popular and very out going. There is nothing wrong with the name. You and your husband named him that name, why does it matter what people think? If we all told you that we hated the name, what would you do? To tell you the truth, I don't know why you would even ask that type of question. Be happy for the name. People look at you weird, smile. If they call him Leeton, correct them. Stand up for the boy of yours. I think the name is great. And the kid will be very out going and likes in school. :)

I think that its a great name!!! I like it when people come up with something original.... it results in people never forgetting the name cause its so unique. I do know what you mean though.... I have an 18 month old son named Darius. You and your husband didn't make a bad choice/decision. The world any more is just to critical and if people can only sit around and make fun of people then they can go F*** off and get a life!!!

I think that it is a nice name. To some people the spelling would suggest that it is pronounced leeton. Just tell them that right way to say it. I ts unique being unique is what makes people stand out.

I love the name Leyton but to be honest I know of a little girl
by that name at church so maybe that is why they look at you
weird. My past pastors sons name is Brayden I thought it was a little different but I like it to. Don't worry what others think he is your child like and as long as he knows he has caring parents that love him and his name he will be happy to like I said I love the name honestly.

I like it. My daughter has a boy in her preschool named Layton. To be honest... Leyton's name would have me wonder if it was pronounced Leeton or Layton. Still, I like it.

What is your son's name? I would want to make sure Adelaide sounds good paired with his name. But as far as it being a "white girl" name - break the stereotype! Your daughter will not be made fun of for having a name like Adelaide - it's very pretty. EDIT: I just saw that your son's name is Eric Daniel - I think Eric and Adelaide sound great together!

I love it! Absolutely perfect for a boy! When I first read the name, I pronounced it right, but I lived near a town called Layton.....
My name is Heidi and I have people mispronounce my name all the time! LOL
