UMM i get distracted easy and i dont know my times tables past 8 and umm i have good grades but im really dumb and im random and everytime i see a dog i gotta get out the car to go pet and catz to and i told my counselor and she said i should take an assesment i need help am i retarted and should get put in the special class or do i really have add

1st of all ADD does not make you retarded, it is a disability.
If you have the assessment, you should get an IEP(Educational Plan Ask your counselor), that will allow you to have special accomendations (such as help for homework, a paraprofessional to help you etc) also you need to see a pshychiatrist to see if you truly have ADD, ADHD or other disorder. They can give you some medication that will make it alot easier to concentrate and do the things you want without getting into trouble.

Discuss your concerns with your parents and a medical professional. There are tests that doctors can do that will help in figuring out if you are actually ADD or if you have ANY other disability what so ever... such as OCD (obsesive compulsive behavior)... which would count for you stopping to pet animals.

Even if you have ADD, you wont get put in special classes. In fact, know that your ADD will be very helpful to you.
