My best friend mailed me a fresh pineapple from Hawaii. Can I freeze some of it now for later use? Will it have a good consistency when unfrozen? Will it affect the flavor? I have already cut it up into small pieces, ready for eating.

Place an electric heater under the front of the car for 1 hour. If this is not an option: If you can identify the area of the water pump carry several gallons of hot water out and pour it slowly over the pump and a couple more gallons right over the top of the engine. If you can not identify the area of the water pump, just slowly pour about 10 gallons of hot ( tap hot - not boiling ) over the engine. Start the engine with the radiator cap removed and let it run for a few seconds while listening for unusual noises - anything strange - squealing - shut it off immediately and do not attempt to start again without getting the car into a warm garage! If no unusual noise allow the engine to idle for a few ( 3-5 ) minutes then shut it off and let it sit for 10 to 15 minutes to allow the warmth from the engine to spread through the engine compartment, radiator and hoses, start the engine again and let it idle until one of two things happens, either (1) you get heat from the heater and the temperature steadies in the normal operating range and water is circulating normally in the radiator, or (2) the temp rises above the normal range or the HOT light comes on, if this happens shut the engine off immediately and allow it to sit for 15 to 20 minutes to allow the heat to disperse to the radiator and hoses then repeat. keep checking the coolant level and add water as needed! Once you have thawed everything out and gotten the system up to temperature go directly to your local parts store and purchase 2 gallons of concentrated anti freeze, drain the water from your cooling system and refil it with anti-freeze coolant, pour the first gallon in straight from the bottle to blend with the water remaining in your cooling system, once you have the first gallon in blend the remaining antifreeze 50/50 with water to top off the system, once you think it is full start the engine and let it run with the cap removed until normal circulation is observed in the radiator, then cap it and drive it a mile or so then re check the level, repeat until the level remains steady and the heater blows hot consistently.

Eat it now, you wont have the same consistency after its been frozen you would have to eat it from its frozen state like an iceblock or cook with it as in a pineapple upside down cake.
