buy scoopable litter and scoop it every day. change all the litter once every 2 weeks. use Arm & Hammer Cat box Deodorizer. that should do it.

As a person with a multi-cat household, I'd like to offer these suggestions:

1. Use a clumping-type cat litter that says on the box that it offers odor control. Kitty litter is not a thing you want to economize on.

2. Scoop the litter at least twice a day, adding new litter as necessary. Change the litterbox completely any time you feel it needs it.

3. Try adding baking soda to the litter box. This helps cut down on the smell.

4. Use a covered litter box if possible.

5. Keep the litter box in a well-ventilated area.

6. Listen to what your cats tell you about the litterbox. Put it somewhere where they will use it; cats are lazy, and if you make it hard for them to use the litterbox, you will pay for your mistake. Also, recognize that the cats are the ultimate users of the litterbox, and if they object to the litter or anything you're putting in it, it doesn't matter whether you like the litter or not. If they don't like it they won't use it, and that trumps any feelings you have about it.

Good luck.

I had the same problem. For at least three years, I kept switching litter brands, switching boxes. Finally I read a website (sorry, I forget where) that advised using an OPEN litter box. I was always using one with a cover, hoping to keep the smell in. As it turns out, the cover kind of makes the stench fester. The most success I've had is with FreshStep litter, but not the clumping kind because it freaks one of my cats out. I use a regular open pan, and scoop every day, change the litter once a week. You would never know I had two cats now. I hope that helps!

Scoopable litter, scooped at least once a day. Add baking soda to the litter box as it reduces the scent. If you have multiple cats, the formula for boxes is 1 box for each cat + 1 extra box; so 2 cats should have 3 boxes, etc.

well...we have one stinky cat...but no matter how stinky she is we would never get rid of her. but instead of just changing the litter box once a week, do it a couple times a week. we also started using the litter brand TIDY CATS SCOOPS-SMALL SPACES (with the orange label). and let me tell you it smells so good (and it's not expensive)...some times i wish i was using it...lol. but we change the litter box every two days and use that brand. we haven't had any problems so far. and if that doesn't work you can always tie an air freshner to its tail...lol. just kidding. but take my advice and i hope it works for you.

They have some green crystals that are usually at the pet stores that work great and - with your reg. litter u just sprinkle this 1/2 cup amount in the box when you scoop up the doo! The pet shop can tell you the exact name- we lost our cat 2 years ago but it worked great!!

my litter box for my kitten does not smell.
you need to by odour absorbing litter, and change it frequently.
also, you could put those carpet sprinkles (the stuff you use when you vacuum) to make it smell pretty. its mostly available in the cleaning product aisle at your supermarket.
also, when kitty does poo's, get them out of the litter with toilet paper and flush them down the toilet straight away.

We use TidyCats for multiple cats. The more often you scoop the less it smells. We can skip a day and not smell it. However I don't recommend skipping more then that.

I had the same concern. My kitten might use his field purely super in our room. after a week i enable him out into our domicile with our different cat. as quickly as I did this my different male cat used his field and the kitten wouldnt pass interior the muddle field after that. I had to get a clean field and shop him in a distinctive area of the domicile for him to apply the litterbox
