Your State must allow gaming and you must apply for a gaming licence from the Gaming Control Board. If approved, you can move forward and open a poker room.

Here is the key, do you want this as a business or a club ,because if you are NOT raking the game and not charging to sit or get in AND its player delt ,you don't need anything this is why ALOT of fraternal clubs (eagles,elks, etc) have card tables. but the second you take 1 penny out of the game to pay rent food or soda it becomes illegal gambling in most areas

i assume you mean in a place not online, you need a gaming licence and gambling licence you can obtain from the local council and gaming control board GCB, however you will be regulated by them and assessed on dealings going on within your gaming community. its hard to obtain unless you are already involved in gambling.

if u want to run a business then check out the requirements from the city/state business boards..every location has its own rules/requirements.
