I'm sorry, I don't get this. If he's only your friend, why do you care if he's chatting with other women?
If you are in a relationship with this man, how come you are not either living together or married after 5 years? Don't you think you should have come to a decision of some kind about this relationship by now?
If you are the one holding back from commitment, then maybe this man has got tired of waiting for you. If he is the one who won't commit, then I'd say he has probably been seeing other women for a while.

Yes because I went through the same thing with my husband. He didn't think it was cheating since he didn't mean what he said to them but I still considered it cheating. Really it would depend on what he was saying to them. If it was just friendly talk then no but if it was more than that I would consider it cheating.

Its not cheating. Did you ever ask him about people he chats with? How is chatting any different that what goes on here?

Well first of all is he your friend or your boyfriend? If he's not your boyfriend then he could very well have SEX w/ another woman and you wouldn't have a place to say anything.
I say stay away from him if he's not going to call you his own.

it depends on the guy. my ex would talk to other girls and it really upset me, i blew up at him and then we broke up. i regretted it after but i was so upset he was flirting with other girls online. if this guy really cheats on you online. he's a douche bag.
