I have been living for the last 4-5 years like this:

1-working for 8-9 hours in the office where i stare at the computer screen all the time.

2- I then come home and either watch TV for anothr 5 hours.

What are the bad consequences of such behavior?

You won't go blind, so don't worry. You probably will develop repetitive eye strain from looking at the screen too long. You probably know this allready, but when you are working at the computer, take short breaks to give your eyes a rest. Coming home and watching TV for that length of time also will add to eye strain and you may develop headaches and pain behind your eyes. You will probably be sitting down allot at your computer and in front of the TV which can also be a health issue. Why not try some gentle stretching exercises and when you are at home, put a cold pack on your eyes to help relax the muscles and take a relaxing bath or shower-this all helps to reduce stress also.

You won't go blind, but your eyes will have a harder time adjusting from looking at near objects to far ones. If you wear glasses already you may have to switch to bifocals. Make sure your TV at home isn't too close.
