I believe that WWII was the last war the USA fought offensively. What will it take for us to fight this way again???? (especially concerning Iraq)

Let me clarify! I'm a Honerable Navy Veteran 91'-99'. You may not agree but I do not believe that we have fought an outright offensive war since the WW2. We could NUKE Iraq and take their OIL Today! What I'm asking is when will we stop fighting these politically correct wars and START to Wage Real WAR with the goal of CONQUERING.

Iraq, like youve probably noticed, isnt really a war anymore. Technically, not officially though, its not war but an occupation.
In 2007 we need to reinstate the draft. (One thing that showed me that the new Democratic Congress isnt as ignorrant as I thought, with them and the talking about putting the draft back in) And put around 300,000 (265,000 more than there are now) in Iraq, of course these will be boots on the ground, Infantry.
But as we get involved in a "real" war, an "offensive" war as you stated. That will be like WWII type of warfare, where you bomb the hell out of your enemy until they give up. Which the US will be extremely successful at. So w/ the majority of Military Police and Infantry in Iraq, the rest playing minor roles in our new enemies country (Basically spying and blowing up major missle sites and things like that). And then use the Air Force to bomb the countries 'Back to the Stone Age" as Bush stated, the Navy to again "Bomb them Back to the Stone Age", and use the Coast Guard to set up blockades across our enemy countries by sea.
THIS is the kind of war, REAL war, that the US will be extremely successful in. And THIS, REAL war, will be the next one we fight. Where US Soldeirs stop dieing as much, and our enemy suffers.

What do you mean by fighting offensively? The US took the offensive in Korea, driving the N Koreans all the way up to the boarder with China. That's when the red Chinese decided to play and pushed the UN forces back to roughly the 38th parallel.
We were on the offensive in both Iraq wars and we actually did win the current war. The government that was there fell and the army disbanded. We're now trying to fight an insurgency that is intermixed with civilians. If we start bombing the hell out of insurgency positions eventually civilians are going to be killed.

For the last 130 years we have fought offensively. The last action fought on our soil was against ourselves in the civil war. ( I say this because General McClain fought a defensive war). Vietnam, Korea, Persian Gulf War, Afghanistan, and Iraq were offensive actions. We are not fighting a static defense war in Iraq as of yet ( although we are starting to think about it with the mass troop holdings in Baghdad)

In World War II, the generals prosecuted the wars. Everything after that was run by the politicians. That's why we were good at it in the good old days. The politicians have all kinds of interests to protect.

Its not gonna happen even with Middle East conflicts. We have United Nations and many allied countries. What were you thinking? We are not gonna fight, we are not fighters, "We The Peoples" - UN quote
It might be possible we might have war due to North Korea, Middle East and other countries who despise America and other democracy countries.

it will take a good president, but theses days that almost seems to be a joke. It will take good tactics and a war that EVERYONE is for, because the war is ACTUALLY concerning the good of the people.

more oil, innocent lives will definitly make U.S want to go on war again n again ..nothin against americans just dont like the president ..not only does he look like a monkey but acts like one too ..sadly american soldiers are dying for his greedy acts
