I'm an atheist and believe in humanity, compassion and peace just not that the end of life can be simply divided into a heaven or hell ending. I think we have souls, but not a religious sense, but perhaps that conflicts with atheisim, but I don't believe in any organised religion, God, Allah etc.

I'm an atheist, and I believe in many things. However pretty much all of the things I believe in have evidence to support it, are things I have observed, or fit logically into the universe as we know it.

I believe in human compassion. I believe life is precious. I believe in doing unto others as you would have them do unto you. I believe in 7 of the 10 commandments (the non worshipping ones) as good guidelines to follow for living in harmony with other people.

None of the above requires worshipping or believing a divine being, for which there is no real evidence to support, nor do my own personal observations give me any reason to believe in.

Just because there are many things that science cannot explain yet, does not mean they must be derived from divine intervention. It just means science has not advanced far enough to explain them.

Atheist do in truth have the guidelines of mom nature to visual show unit and use as a education guide on what has got here about interior the previous. Christan's as a replace have a lone e book that with techniques from their personal admission isn't unique. It obviously replaced into changed to suite human beings in power with the help of history. Even right now we are selective in what parts of it we ought to continuously follow. So the bible they study right now isn't in truth very on the point of the unique writings. as well, the bible delivers no troublesome data. In my eyes in the journey that your talking chance, the Atheists have a much better chance of having it accurate.

No, they only believe the exact opposite of whatever the person they are speaking to believes. I think the scientific term for it is "Two-year-old-itis".

KEVIN M: (below) On the flip side; Just because there are many things that science can currently explain, it does not mean that science is the explanation for everything. Just because there are millions of things you've never seen with your own eyes, it doesn't mean that they don't exist. Have you ever seen the planet Venus with your own eyes? No, you've seen pictures that others have shown you. Talk about faith. Your error is in believing that "seeing is believing". I think the biggest mistake anyone can make is emphatically declaring that there is no God because you haven't seen evidence of it. A more open-minded stance is that you don't KNOW, but still allow that it may be true. It's called being Agnostic; the only truly open-minded stance for those who question religion. To call yourself an Atheist is to admit to having a closed mind.

atheists believe in lots of things, just not gods

I believe in love, family, wisdom, peace, compassion, the essential goodness of my fellow man... but the 'god' idea is obsolete

They believe in themselves only.. that no one bigger presence exists that created it all or them. They may believe that being a 'good person' is good enough. I think that is short sighted and foolish, but they would say the same about me.

atheists have no wonder in their lives. Everything is cold and hard. Your dead. You rot in the ground. God, at least spruce it up a bit by throwing in the concept of heaven
