The thought that taurine is bull semen is a common misconception. It was actually first discovered in ox bile in 1827. Essentially, it is a type of amino acid. It actually doesn't have much of an 'energizing' effect, technically.

Taurine (Latin taurus = bull, as it was first isolated from ox (Bos taurus) bile in 1827 by German scientists Friedrich Tiedemann and Leopold Gmelin or 2-aminoethanesulfonic acid is an acidic chemical substance found in high abundance in the tissues of many animals (metazoa), especially sea animals. Taurine is also found in plants, fungi, and some bacterial species, but in far less abundance. Taurine is a derivative of the sulphur-containing (sulfhydryl) amino acid, cysteine. Although it is often called an amino acid, even in scientific literature, it lacks a carboxyl group and therefore does not qualify as an amino acid. It does contain a sulfonate group and may be called an amino sulfonic acid. Small polypeptides have been identified which contain taurine but to date no tRNA synthetase has been identified as specifically recognizing taurine and capable of charging it to a tRNA.

Nope not often. I only drink energy drinks in times of studying and hard revision and when doing an alnighter. Gosh the thinking of revision gives me the creeps. Thankgod im having great fun with movie nights and hoping to wake up for 36 more days looking forward to great fun and no uni. p.s. advise you to cut down on coffee and energy drinks...it dries you out and you will feel really low...your mind needs its rest dont force it to work beyond its powers
