Hi, my black lab has just started acting weird. He was sleeping on the bed, and every fve minutes kept moving to a different position. didnt think anything of it, until he got off laid on the floor and can not lay there longer than 30 seconds with out getting up and moving around. his back right leg keeps twitching and he keeps licking it. he does not seem out of i, still comes to me when i call him. just keeps mlaying down moving in weird positions. i am going to watch him or an hr or so and then call avet if it persists. can i give him ny quil or something? all else we have in the house is tylenol which i know dogs can not take. thank you!

DO NOT GIVE YOUR DOG NYQUIL! LIKE HUMANS DOGS HAVE THEIR DAYS! HE MAY JUST BE UNCOMFORTABLE! IF YOU"RE WORRIED CALL A VET

I wouldn't give him any sort of meds without talking to the vet first.. A phone call won't cost anything. Labs have bad joint problems and they bother them just like humans get bothered...like when the weather changes and stuff. I have a Lab and I think his joints are just now starting to bother him too. Sometimes he gets restless and gets up and walks around, then lays down. It just takes him a while. He might need to go outside too. Let him run around for a little bit...it'll make him tired and it will loosen up his joints some so they won't be so tight.

Good luck to you and your puppy!

there r many things that could have happened or things that could be wrong with him. my dog was doing the same types of things. then he quit eating, then every time he ate or drank he puked. and he just layed around for days. i didnt think anything of it so i just thought he had a belly ache. then i noticed he was only urinating when i took him outside. so i took him to the vet. turns out he did have a belly ache. he ate things like string and cloth and paperclips. it all got caught up in his intestines and they had to do surgery on him. so just try to feel his belly if he growls take him to the vet. if it feels like there is something there take him in. and make sure that if they tell u to put him to sleep take him to a different vet for a second opinion and never give up on him

If I was you I would call my vet..There could be something serious wrong..How old is he.. It could be that he has arthritis...you could give him a baby aspirin and see if that helps..my husky and malamute has arhtirits and the vet told me I could give him baby aspirin..like once a day..But don't give him any ny quill..that may hurt him instead of helping him..I hope this helps..If it's cold the cold weather could be bothering his leg's but I would just call my vet immediately

First off, DO NOT give your dog any human medication. You should call a vet if it doesn't stop. This happened to my dog. She had just pulled a muscle. Hope your doggie feels better.

Hope I helped :)

Call your vet now, don't wait. I'm not saying it's something bad so don't freak out because I really don't know but if it's something to do with his nervous system maybe he got into something? But I don't think you want to wait you at least want to talk to them about what could be going on.
