... acting so rude, being so complacent & behaving like the world revolves around our individual selves? We think of ourselves as giving, caring, open minded, tolerant, etc. yet I'm running into self centred, self absorbed, & self serving Canadians day in, day out! What's up with that??????
1. Is it because technology is forcing us to change behaviours?
Eg: Loud Cell phones ringing in Libraries, then the owners
answering, & talking very loudly, as if no one else is
around, yet they're blind to the fact that they're in a
library & they're bothering people!

2. Is it due to our population growth, where we become insolated/
isolated & have less social skills?

3. Is it due to being a wealthy country & like usual humans adapt
& become too comfortable with our surroundings?

What is your opinion & do you have any solutions to our growing problem of "ENTITLEDMENT" ATTITUDES?

Find the ones who have gone through hard times and have come out of them for the better. Such things, after they've overcome them, make them more concerned for people. Others may come out of them for the worse, and would just as soon victimize people as say hi to them. Others are taken up with a lot of things that decrease our social interactions and pay more attention to practical things, and socializing is not a practiced skill.

This is not just a Canadian problem, but one of people in most wealthy countries. I'm not sure how you attribute this rudeness you're experiencing to being a Canadian problem, unless you are only seeing what is around you, and therefore who is the insulated/isolated, self-centred, self-serving, self-absorbed one here? Sometimes you have to look within to find answers, rather than blaming everything or everyone besides you.

This is not just a Canadian problem, it is a North American problem...I can't see any remedy to the situation, people do feel entitled...They have zero patience for anything, waiting for a pizza pop to cook in the microwave is too long for most people today...The only thing we can possible do is be aware of slipping into those traps ourselves and doing at least a few kind things a day for people, nothing on a grand scale but something to help pur fellow man...

environmental and multicultural tendencies provide us with a relatively safe and constantly changing place to live. societies mores are predicted by those who live there. canadians are in a constant flux which makes us wait for something tangible to react upon. what is rude to some is proper ettiquette for others. understanding takes patience and time. unpredictability and lack of knowledge about our surroundings may cause apathy and selfishness. life is happening too quickly perhaps for some to adjust to it. therefore each individual merely tries to carve their own niche while spending less and less time concerned with others.
