Most, if not all, of the mother son dances that I have seen have been between the groom and his mother, while the father daughter dance is with the bride and her father.

The groom and HIS mother. That's why it's called the "Mother - Son Dance".

There is a mother/son dance. I'm in the middle of planning my wedding and I let my mother pick the song. She chose "Godspeed (sweet dreams)" by the Dixie Chicks. If you search for Mother son dance songs, you'll find many helpful ideas

Well if the bride just danced with her dad he should dance with his mom. We did this at our wedding but we didn't warn his mom we were going to do it, we wanted it to be a nice surprise. But she had already changed shoes so we have lots of pics of her and him dancing in her ugly just-for-comfort shoes...oops! Its the funny stuff you keep talking about later! :)

Hope you have a fun day!
