ñ on the number pad Alt 0241 (hold down alt while pressing the code on the number pad, then let up alt)
All the lowercase letters with all kinds of accents start at Alt.
ß Alt 0223
à Alt 0224 (etc--alphabetical from there--more or less)

Alt Codes Spanish

There are two ways to do it, one easy one not so easy. If you are only doing it on occasion you can use the Character map and copy and past it to whatever you are doing. The harder way, but better if you are typing in Spanish on a regular basis would be to set your keyboard up for it in the language settings.

To find the Character Map go to:
1. Start
2. All Programs
3. Accessories
4. System Tools
5. Character Map

To set up your keyboard to type in Spanish follow these steps:
1. Go to Control Panel
2. Regional and Language Options
3. Click the Languages Tap
4. Click the Details button
5. Then Click Add and find Spanish

Now I don't know what you meant by coding but if your talking about computer programing then most languages have an inherent understanding of Unicode so if you set up your computer to input Spanish (the second description) then it will work.

Spanish Alt Codes

2016-09-30 23:35:37 · answer #4 · answered by heusel 4 · 0 0

I'll suppose you have Windows XP. Just set your
keyboard to United-States-International.
Then to get ñ, hold the right ALT key down and type
n. To get an accented a, for example, hold the
right ALT key down and type an a. The same
holds for all the other vowels. The inverted
question mark is right ALT +?.
I don't have a laptop, so I can't answer the
second part. Sorry, but I hope that helps!

The accents are used by pressing Ctrl + something and then letting up and then typing the letter that you want to have the accent. For example:

Ctrl +shift + ` , then hit n = ñ
Ctrl + ', then hit e = é
Ctrl + shift + ;, then hit u = ü

Just change the letter in them to change where the accent goes.

It doesn't work in all programs, but it works for Microsoft Word. Some email programs don't work, but if you copy and paste them, they work.
