If I am manic, I feel like I have no time for exercise. I feel like I need to be doing more important things. But if I do exercise when I am manic, I could continue forever.
When I am depressed, exercise does absolutely nothing for me. It does not pick me up, it does not make me feel better, nothing. And when I am trying to exercise, all I think about is being in my bed.
When my mood is stable, I don't think exercise has much of an effect either. It does not make me feel any better. In fact, the only reason I do exercise it to keep the weight off from all the meds I have to take.
To summarize: Exercise does nothing for me.

If I'm down and I find the energy to go lift weights, I always end up feeling very agressive and want to destroy everying I see.
I have to find a balance when exercsing, or I get too much testosterone pumping through the bloodstream :-s

During down times it is very difficult to get up to do anything. I have a very pushy daughter and she makes me walk at least one block and to do one house chore. After that my mood goes up a little. It's really hard but keep trying.

it releases endorphins which can leave you on a happy high. even a brisk walk esp in winter can leave you with a nice rush or maybe just a slightly more serene feeling/ it can't hurt right?
