Take the totality of existence and subtract the discovery of existence and the remainder is the mystery of existence. The mystery of existence is myth's eternal fire, and will always inspire those who are lucky enough to have the energy, space and time to ponder it. Gnostic theists, agnostic atheists, gnostic atheists and agnostic theists; all act in accord with belief systems that include myths designed to explain the mystery of existence. Maybe you are an agnostic atheist. An agnostic atheist is a person who claims an inability to know about the existence of a deity or deities and claims this inability leads to a belief in a catagory of myth containing no soul and no spirit. An agnostic atheist has faith in a belief system based in part on the myth that the fractal infernal temporal seed and body of self and world are all that exist.
I very much doubt that belief in a catagory of myth containing no soul and no spirit could be a source of bliss to you. I expect as an agnostic atheist you will more likely find your emotions in life to be unbalanced by sad sorrow, mad fear and bad anger as you fly by the seat of your pants towards death. If you are an agnostic and affirm an inability to know about the existence of a deity or deities, then I have to wonder: Why would you choose of your own free will to believe in a catagory of myth that contains no soul and no spirit?
I am an agnostic theist. I affirm an inability to know about the non existence of a deity or deities and claim this inability along with a desire to be happy and healthy leads me to believe in the one possibility out of all possibilities that enables me to have the highest esteem of self and world that I can possibly imagine. I believe having the highest esteem of self and world that I can possibly imagine involves affirming a belief in a divine eternal essence of self and world I call soul and spirit. I believe spirit is an infinity divinity eternally one and as such a hidden mysterious Mother God. Spirit creates an infinite body of large universes of the correct kind to support living infernal fractal entities. Father Love is our manifest obvious discovered universe and the rest of an infinite seed body of large universes of the correct kind to support living infernal fractal entities. Life forms when divine eternal soul spirit merges with fractal infernal temporal seed body. Mother God and Father Love join to create Soul Children: an infinite number of finite creatures created in the image of an infinite creator each endowed with a fractal infernal temporal seed body and a divine eternal soul spirit. I think, believe and expect that we are soul children, divine and eternal ordering chaos of minds enjoying entertainment derived from bodies that live and die.

Yes, it's ignorant.
And it's only bliss if ignorance truly is bliss.
Considering the complexity of modern life, willfully ignoring facts about the world, the universe, and about life on this planet in order to remain ignorant and not risk challenging your faith is just plain dumb. But apparently there are a few people who still chose the intentional ignorance path -- no worries, evolution will eventually weed out those with the ignorance gene, since they won't survive nearly as well as those of us who use our brains :)

Faith is any belief. Even believing that a fact is true has faith in it. In the end, even all of our so-called knowledge is faith, because we don't understand anything at the atomic level.
Now if a belief is true, but hasn't been proved yet, would that be ignorance?

Bliss, maybe, Can ignorant people have faith, sure.
Do you have to be ignorant to have faith, absolutely not.
Many people have studied all subjects including Religion for over 20 years and become even stronger in their faith, so having faith is not equal to being ignorant.
But it makes some un-believers feel more educated to say these things about us, and that is fine. It is always easier to follow the crowd than holding to your morals. Sticking to your Morals will always bring more happiness in the end...
Peace and God Bless you!

I would agree that blind faith is in fact ignorance. It is blind unbending faith that causes so many people to do horrible things in the name of religion.
The faith described in the New Testament is a reasoned faith that allows us to reexamine our faith from time through doubt and questioning. Thereby we grow in intellect, security and confidence.
I don't think you could possibly consider people like C S Lewis ignorant. I could name many others who are believers and also quite intelligent. But I suppose you define "ignorance" as any one who does not see things the way you see them. Now that is REAL FAITH isn't it.

Yes it is based upon ignorance and fear. Fear of punishment by this vengeful god mentioned in the bible, Unwillingness to take responsibility for our own actions and the impact they have upon us and others.
Worse still is the fact that it has been (in my opinion), promoted as a means of controlling the masses and making them accept situations that are more a result of political decisions and economics than any unseen god.
Doesn't sound much like bliss to me.

The origin of the universe is something taken on faith as well. It can't be proven either. So it comes down to a choice.

By definition, faith is a strong belief in something without proof. I personally don't base my religious beliefs on faith, but to each their own.

i do no longer think of it relatively is hilarious in any respect. each and all the bickering backward and forward approximately what's and what isn't the reality, is a factor of human nature. If all of us understand that, i think of there could be extra tolerance. regrettably, we don't view it that way. we predict of we can replace yet somebody else's attitude to believe our very own. yet that doesn't take place. i'm getting caught up interior the evolution/creationism debate especially circumstances. i'm additionally an atheist, which bugs the day lights furniture out of particular religious denominations. especially Christianity. i know voicing my perspectives might desire to no longer make a dent in somebody who's thinking has been molded and nurtured with the help of somebody with a definite bias from delivery.
