We did baby cereal in the morning and just before bed. I usually used oatmeal and mixed in a bit of cinnamon and some applesauce. They loved it! During the day they would eat about 3 or more jars of food or more depending on if they were experiencing a growth spurt. Then of course formula throughout the day. I have always fed on demand and just watched the cues from my kids as to whether they were hungry or not.
At this age my son also started drinking water from a sippy cup. Just give them the cup with the water and no pressure. They play with it a lot, but eventually figure it out, and a few months later when its time to ditch the bottles its an easier transition.

Most of the softer stuff you would eat such as mashed potatoes, finely scrambled eggs, soft cooked veggies. Most of the things you would eat just blander, watch the spices. But of course there is baby food, rice cereal mixed with juice or formula. Go to Gerber.com on the right hand side there is a link to start healthy stay healthy. they have a guide to reference.

At 9 months my children were eating adult food. I just didn't salt the food until it came to the table and took theirs out in the kitchen. I have to say, my children didn't have a cavity until the reached their 30's. They never were absent in school, even got batches for attendance. I firmly belief that they can eat all the stuff we eat. Baby food was unheard of in Europe when I grew up and we all survived without allergies.
