I have a 9month old female boxer who is breaking out on her muzzle and neck and down to her front paws. She now is having small patches of hair falling out in the same area. I was told by the vet it was acne and gave me benziod peroxcide to put on it. It has been a month and not getting better in fact now her skin is drying out and she scratching till she bleeds sometimes. I have just started her on some omega 3 and 6 supplement hoping that will help. Anyone else have any ideas???

Take her back to the vet, or a different vet for a second opinion.

Have you had her checked out for allergies? That is what it sounds like to me. We have an english shepard that will loose all the hair on her belly in the fall and it will become red, irritated, and bleeds (with her scratching it) We put on some anti-inflamitory cream (doggie anti-itch type) and it will at least make it tolerable for her until the allergy season is over.
Did your vet test her for any allergies? Some include: seasonal (air), food, laundry detergent, some fabrics, etc. Look for anything you may have changed when she started showing those signs.
Another possibility is ringworm. It is a fungal disease, not an actual worm. Do the small patches have a faint white ring in the middle of red? You might not be able to see it unless she hasn't been scratching it. This will make hair fall out as well, and are usually in a someone circular patch. Any antifungal cream would cure that up.
I have never head of dog acne that made the hair fall out. Every case I have seen was just a lot of bumps with hair still attached. Plus acne should not be itchy.
Please get a second opinion on her. I think she needs to see another vet, esp if it has been a month with no results.
You can also try inflammed patches with the creams I mentioned above. People anti-fungal cream will work well, and a benadryl type anti-itch/inflammatory that is safe for kids should be ok for a dog if you are looking for cheap suggestions.

Boxers are prone to mange, so I will assume you vet has done the tests for that. If not, have it done! But, it is probably Boxer hives. All of mine have had it, and it seems to be worst from 7-8 months till 2 years of age. At the first sign of the bumps, give her a Benadryl tablet. If this does not help in a few hours, the vet can give her an injection that is stronger. Bathing your dog with a tea tree oil or oatmeal based dog shampoo with some regular Listerine mixed in can help, also. Once the bumps blister & burst, you are then going to get the bald patches you mention, so it is best to get them under control or dried up before that happens.

Have your vet do a skin scraping to look for demodex mites. It's fairly common in pups. Otherwise, if you have bumps on the skin and they are irritated or infected, a course of antibiotics may help.
Pets get contact allergies as well- if your pup has a plastic food bowl, water bowl or favorite toy, take them away for now. Replace dishes with ceramic and toy with a non-rubber or non-plastic toy. Many dogs are allergic to rubber and plastic.

Go back to the vet, I think she might be having an allergic reaction. When dogs have an allergy, they itch. The vet can give something else to take care of it.
