Do the Flinstones and other chewable vitamins you buy for children at walmart and other stores, really do any good?

I've done research on this and the ones that you buy at wal-mart aren't that good. The best ones that you can get are the Usana brand vitamin for kids called Usanimals. This is what I give my 2-year-old. She loves them and always wants more and I know that they are best for her.

ADDED:
The children's vitamins in Wal-Mart have the minimum amount of nutrients in them and still be considered a vitamin. Usanimals have the amounts of nutrients in them that a child needs.

Hope this helps!

The best you can say for those kinds of vitamins is that they are better than nothing. But in truth, they leave out a number of nutrients in favor of sweeteners and flavorings. Try getting a whole food nutrition powder and sprinkle it on their food. Juice Plus comes in capsule form, but you could easily open them up. There is also a product called Nanogreens10 that tastes pretty decent.

You don't have to worry about overdosing the kids since the products are made totally from vegetables and fruits, but on the other hand, you can use less because of the kids' size. As a rule-of-thumb, most doses for any adult supplement are based on a 150 pound person, so you can calculate from there.

I think they do help, The main thing about vitamins is you want to make sure that they are at least STANDARDIZED.It will say this on the box if they are. Of course you can go to a health food store and get a higher grade vitamin for them if you can afford them.

I would like to know too. I use them because I think I'm not getting the right nutrition with the food they offer on campus.

When you go to buy them read what is in them and the one that gives everything a child should have are the ones you want to buy.
