Use sea salt soaks and warm compresses. You can also try massaging the area with a small amount of tea tree oil. The combination of those things will help soften tissue. If need be, use a larger size/length/diameter jewelry to reduce any pressure the jewelry puts on the area.

If its a keloid (which it sounds like thats what it may be), it won't go away completely but can at least be minimized.

Take the piercing out. As cool as the the tragus piercing is...the pain and drama of cleaning it and medicating it, is not worth it. Have you talk to the piercer? Maybe they can tell you what's wrong. I have heard of something called...Keloid...or Keytoid (However you say it.) It is a small bump caused from piercing. It is common among the African American culture. Anyone can get these piercing bumps though.....Take it out would be the best bet. It might heal and you can always try again at a later time.

um clean it alot and you might wanna try using dial antibacterial/antimicrobial hand soap. its a lil softer on the skin but gets the job done the stuff most peircing places give will dry out you skin, it could be many things that cause it it coul be the metal in the earing, or you could have and alergy to the cleaning stuff you use, if its a black bumb it sounds like its just dirt, my advice go to a peircing shop and as them for advice, the shops ar very knowledgeable...

- proud owner of left and right ears peirced and gauged to size 2(the right one got ripped out and closed so i gotta get it repierced) well good luck with the black bump hope my advice is some help to you = )

I've had infected piercings before and never really had a black bump. Usually when it's infected it's just really red. I would talk to the dr about it, it sounds more serious than just an infection.

try treating it with Teetreaoil, it helped my daughter's blemished tragus. The bump went away around two weeks later.

A black bump doesn't sound good, you should go to the doctor in case its gangrene or something unpleasent.

call your doctor it could be unrelated to the piercing only irritated by it. it could be more serious than an infection.
