There are a couple of answers to that. The first is that when people are looking for another person to date, the first impression is usually visual. However, since we now have Internet dating, that is not necessarily the case.
The second reason is that studies have shown that people are most attracted to those who have a similar facial structure to their own. So, "being cute" then becomes a personal preference.
In the end, not all guys will look for girls that are cute rather than what their personality is. If the personalities don't match, then the relationship is not going to last.
As long as a person looks clean and well put together (like they actually care about how they look and not like they only take a shower and brush their hair once a year), they will inevitably find someone who will appreciate their personality.

even a married guy will look at other women. Men always look, it's when they stop that there's a problem. Men also have egos. First thing you need to remember, there are no un-cute girls. A guy might not go out of his way to say so but he won't turn a girl down especially if she attracts him. The best way to attract him, if not visually, is by being flirtatious and friendly. It takes more work but once you have him, you will have him a lot longer. Because a guy who is only after a girl for her looks will soon find someone who looks better.

Sorry back to the question- That's what most boys are like, some later on start look at personality. They also really care about what they frienmds think as well. If they see a girl and their friends like her then they will chase her like a hound!

A good personality is very important, most guys I know look for someone thats cute and with a good personality, the others are only bimbos.
Who wants to go out with just a plain jane or fugly??

Any guy that acts like that is superficial. And don't worry, if a guy acts like that, you probably don't want to be with him anyway. It's better off if you are just friends.
When a guy is looking for a seriuos relationship and not just some fling, then he will look for someone with a good personality and looks won't factor into the decision as much.

its the initial attraction that makes a guy want to date a girl because she is pretty. But if she has no personality nine times out of ten the relationship won't last unless the guy just wants her as a trophy girlfriend for looks and nothing else.

Let me give you my two cents:
- It's a PRIDE thing for guys to date and have a cute girlfriend.
- Guys are visual. We like cute, pretty, beautiful girls. They turn us on sexualy.
- Most guys look at girls as "short term" sex toys. Personality can wait until we are ready to "settle down" for marriage.
- For most guys LOOKS have a higher priority than PERSONALITY. It's just the way GOD has made us. Sorry ugly girl!

Most people obviously want firsts whats on the outside and then whats on the inside. And, how do I know, well because it's like the cutie the better, and you don't want someone who your not attracted to physically if that's the number one asset you look for in a relationship.

immaturity, for some reason it takes a really long time for a guy to get to the point were they realize that they don't get a super model girlfriend by birth rights. most boys think way out of there league when it comes to picking a girl.

because most men only want a beautiful face and a great body. a lot of guys want sex too so you have to watch out for that too. if you really want to know if a guy likes you for you and not your body or good looks the see if he knows what this means, " a rose is only as beautiful as its peddles and as sharp as its thorns" if you don't understand it it means that you may be beautiful but you're also smart too. test him with questions!
