there is no best or surefire way to get a good car, you have to study and be very careful, or you could hire someone to do it for you, like a appraiser :)

your local newspaper --because the people that advertise are mostly just like you----- they want a fair deal...go and look at some cars that appeal to you and test drive ----these sellers don't want to take the trade/cut by the dealerships and the individual seller will give yopu a cut in the price if you will lay on the sob story and plead for a bargain price.... do not tell ___ this :::: just explain why you cannot pay as much as the asking price and then quit talking and let them say the next words---- it's either your price or look elsewhere....

Look in the newspaper. I found a Honda Accord for $900 at a new car dealership and it ran flawlessly even though it had 200k miles.

try going to bargin.com. police impounds are auctioned off for really low prices.
