i am doing the basics, but, I am looking for some pointers on accelerated healing

You should be washing with a non scented antibacterial or antimicrobial soap (Dial or Proven) twice daily and using non iodized sea salt soaks as well. Keep the area clean, use a q-tip to remove any crust, picking at it with your fingers is not wise. Usually after the first 8-12 weeks you can cut cleaning down to once daily and use sea salt soaks every other day.

Avoid rubbing alcohol, Bactine, peroxide, Epsom salt, Neosporin, astringent and other harsh cleaners. Though some people have used these products with no problems, more often than not they dry out piercings, slow healing and irritate the piercing and local surrounding skin. Better safe than sorry, avoid those products.

Don't play with the piercing unless you are cleaning it and when you clean it be sure your hands are washed. Don't sleep on that side until you are comfortable. The tragus will take anywhere from 6 months to a year to heal, during that time is is not advised you remove jewelry. Any change in discharge, surrounding skin color, pain or bleeding you should see your piercer since its best to see problems to diagnose them. Good luck to you.

I agree with anti you i always use antibacterial/antimocrobial soap dial, and if you get a new ring, some places you buy them from dont clean the proucts befor sale so make sure to do that, also alot of people clean there ears but not the earings the just took out.... so yeah just clean it alot and check it often to make sure there isnt an infection cause if you catch the infection befor its a big deal you can fix it buy simply cleaning, good luck
