Irregular weather patterns (warmer climate). So winters will probably be more mild. A lot of species could potentially die off because certain animal flourish in warmer temps, such as mosquitoes. The more mosquitoes, the more of a chance a person has to get an illness from them (they carry many diseases). Also, a lot of plants could die off because THEY cannot survive in the hot weather. Global warming has also caused icebergs up in the Northern hemisphere to melt. This melting raises the sea level (for one), and also changes the temperatures of the bodies of water, like the Atlantic Ocean. Too drastic of a change could severely alter our own climates!!! Think Day After Tomorrow (although I think that may have been dramatized a little bit!)

And who knows, we may start to forget what a "white Christmas" looks like!!!

Global warming is predictable in some aspects, but is also unpredictable because it is hard for us to predict the future with great certainty. For the first time, scientists have generally concluded that global warming IS happening and it is threatening. Before this, there was not a general consensus. There was a recent article about it, maybe a 1/2 of a year ago??

Good luck with your coursework, and if all else fails, Google it! :)

In order to answer that, we need to know how much the temperature will rise in that period. Unfortunately, this depends on many factors. It is not possible to predict the rise in temperature levels given the current state of science. I do know, however, that the effects of global warning are already being felt. Large number of cold weather species have become extinct (mostly frogs) and other species have adapted by migrating further north or south or to higher altitude.

Average global temperature will continue to rise, although certain areas may become cooler. Until now, the evidence for rises in sea level is not conclusive (mostly due to the increase in the antartic ice cap which offsets the melting of the north pole glaciers).

The Global warming with over heat the ice caps at the actic as well because the ozone layer is losing slowly as the ice melt it will over fill the ocean and earth will be like 80% water.

Of course that will take a awhile that will be a good 1,000 years so do the math and find out.

Well worst case scenario is that the temperature bumps up a couple of degrees. Not to bad right? Unless of course you consider the repercussions, The increased temperature will eventually cause the ice caps to melt which is bad for the polar bears, and even worse for us. This huge influx of freshwater into the Gulf Stream will cause it to cease movement or slow down which in turn will cut off the flow of warm water from the South. This means that winters in the Northern Hemisphere will be super miserable (think arctic circle) and while it may not kill us as all the movies suggest it will definitely make life more difficult.

Global warning is a myth; in fact evidence indicates that the Earth is returning to a more NORMAL temperature and that we are just coming out of a mini-ice age. Two examples as cases in point: 1) Vikings had settlements over much of Greenland. 2) A much warmer and wetter climate caused Anasazi prosperity in the American Southwest, but approximately 1000 AD they had to move because it became cooler and dryer.

Since civilization has adapted in the past to warmer conditions, then they can do so in the future. In fact, agricultural production should also increase.

Every time they tell you that we are going through the warmest weather in 10 thousand, 100 thousand or 10 million years, think about this: in early middle ages Vikings were enjoying very nice warm weather in... Greenland.

50 years from now it will probably be cooler...if the earth is warming it surely has to do with natural phenomena that will run its course...pray we just don't go into another ice age

At this point in time, no one can really answer that question.
What I can tell you is that the ice caps are melting. Oceans will rise, city's will fall, but hope will survive......:)

Land masses will flood. Plant life will die. Animal life will die.

Al gore is off his rocker, the only thing that will happeh is the goverment will pass a global warming taxes. there's only one person who really knows, and he is not talking right now.
