No need to buy anything when some of the most powerful tools are free if you look hard enough...

When you run these, you MUST BE OFFLINE, AND you need to restart the computer WHILE the programs are running. OTHERWISE, they sometimes can not be removed. Disable all other virus ans spyware software except these and remove them permanently.

You need these: Trendmicro Housecall, Spybot Search and Destroy and AVG Free Antivirus.

NOTE: Get updates first, THEN disconnect from the Web when you run these programs, then restart, do NOT CONNECT to the Web yet, and run them again. Don't turn off SpyBot when you turn off the system. When at trendmicro, select "Scan Now It's Free"

I don't really understand the question but are you using one of those free downloads that allow you to run a scan and list all the problems on your machine? If so, ignore it, they always give a list of bogus results just to get you to buy their software.

What actually gave you the message about the spyware attack?

My advice is to get a reputable security suite, like Norton from Symantec, McAfee or Web Root. It may cost more but they are worth it and will give you a lot more protection than 'the get something free now brigade' who then charge you for the full thing and don't give you any protection.

What i find best is a FREE PROGRAM called Spy-bot: seek and destroy.

Its very good at detecting spyware and destroying it, healing it or concealing it in places where it can no longer affect your computer.

It also gives you a firewall type thing that blocks out bad pages (currently around 4,200) on Internet explorer

Did you install 'Spyware Attack?' Then how can it find spyware on your pc?
Spyware Attack IS spyware, not a legit program. Legit programs are free for home use.

Before attempting to remove malware you must switch off System Restore as back up files will be hiding in there, and it will just restore itself. Go to Start - programs - accessories - system tools - system restore.
Run your anti virus and anti spyware in Safe Mode. To get into Safe Mode repeatedly press the F8 key after the bios screen loads but before Windows loads. You'll know if you made it because the screen will be at 800 x 600 and your pc will be slow.

Then beef up your security. Its easier to prevent malware getting on to your sytem in the first place rather than trying to remove it. All the following programs are free for personal use;

You need to install one firewall.
The Windows firewall doesn't stop malware on your pc from dialling out.

You need to install one anti virus;

You need all three anti spyware programs;

http://www.lavasoft.com - Ad-Aware SE Personal anti adware
http://www.safer-networking.org - Spybot Search and Destroy anti spyware. Use the Teatimer settings to protect Internet Explorer, and the Immuniser to stop malware getting on your pc.

And these are useful utilities;

Winpatrol is a handy utility that tracks cookies on your pc and stops unwanted changes to your startup folder.

Spywareblaster works with Internet Explorer and Firefox. It won't uninstall spyware that is already on your pc, but it will prevent hijacks and other malicious changes to your browser.

Remember to update and run all of you anti malware programs at least once a week.

verify whether there is any firewall protection. purely opt for the suspicious websites/pop up menus to be blocked. From next time onwards it won't instant yet common the variety of blocked websites pass up.
