Going for 4 days and am planning on skiing for 2 and maybe a 2 hour dog sled tour. Staying at the Banff Springs Hotel. What are some good restaurants/bars to visit with my wife? Any other must see spots? Thanks in advance!

My husband and I got married just outside of Banff in December 1999. There's loads to do in the winter, even if you don't ski. The Banff springs has an outside skating rink which is free and very picturesque. You can hire skates from the sport shops in town. Also, check out the nearby Johnson Canyon. In the winter, the waterfalls freeze and are just beautiful to look at. The walk is a nice exercise but not too intense. You can also hire snow shoes in town and do some trails.

If you are able to get to Canmore one night there was a restaurant called Zona's - not sure if its still there, but it was really nice - in a house. Sushi if you like it is pretty abundant in Banff too.

Lastly, there are lots of hot springs around the mountains - not sure if they are open that time of year or not.

Have fun!!

Have a great time!

The Banff Springs Hotel is gorgeous. It's about a 10-minute walk to the "downtown" area. Banff's a pretty small place, but such a wonderful party area.
