I think it means making yourself sick. My mum says it's sexual. What's your understanding?

It means a lot of things to me; because it means a lot of things in my experiences.

A lot of machines in industry have a button to push in order to start and stop them. Green for start, Red for stop.

Some dangerous worksites, have a red button in a centralized location that shuts down all the machinery. Why? In case of an emergency. Through the years that has become known as a panic button.

Now, in regards to sex:

If you are a good lover, you do not just push the clit, you titilate it, coach it, and get it aroused.

What you do push is the "G" spot. Pressure against the "G" spot causes an excitement that can lead to a woman's orgasm. It can either be done digitally or by regular (well you know what I mean)

Warning: At first, the woman will feel like she needs to urinate, but assure her that that is good sign, and she will not urinate, she will simply emit a fluid, similar to semen (thicker than her normal natural lubrication)

I hope no one reports me, I cetainly didn't mean to offend anyone.

PS about BS: I was a Missile Launch Officer for ICBMs. You do not push a button to launch missiles. To launch missiles, you and your Deputy must turn keys at the same time. That way, no one person alone can accidentally or deliberately start a nuclear war.

It can be sexual. Sugababes have got a song with the same title and it has sexual undertones. But to me it also means whether something is making me happy or excited (I guess you could say that's sexual too) e.g. "that dress I saw in the shop yesterday just wasn't pushing any buttons for me".

It can be sexual or it can mean pissing someone off. If someone says "don't push my buttons..." then you need to back off. If someone says "He knows how to push all the right buttons..." then [shes] turned on by whatever he does. Obviously, you'll know which situation calls for which meaning. A guy that is pissed off at you doesn't want to sleep with you and vice versa.

You always do those things that just change his mood, for better or worse. Like, you're controlling him, hence the button-pushing.

It's something I like to do with a girl who is undressed.

Also it reminds me of the big red shiny button marked DO NOT PUSH on a classic episode of Ren & Stimpy.

Something that "pushes your button" turns you on--makes you feel good, whether sexual or just happy. But someone who "knows which buttons to push" knows just how to wind you up and irritate the bejaysus out of you.

Start a process.

As in, "when your cheque clears, I'll push the button and begin work".

(And, lest you may wonder, the services I offer are not of a sexual nature.)

It means something that you can relate to.

For example, if someone answers a question and you totally agree with them, you could say that they (or their answer) "pushes your button".

It can be used in a sexual context, also.

I agree with your mom it's a bit of sexual innuendo which is making this sort of song popular on dance floors, although lyrically it's rubbish

It is a biblical statement, God said "push the button" and the light went on.
