I asked this guy to a barbeque my roommates and I were having. He said, 6:30? I don't get off work until 7:00, usually. I said, Well, we'll still be doing stuff and I could save you food. Then, as if he was pissed that I'd ruined his excuse, he said, Well, maybe I'll see you and maybe I won't. What's up with that? Then I couldn't ask another date, and I was already stuck making all the food. In the end, he didn't come. Then I didn't hear from him for two weeks and he said, "oh, sorry about the other night. A machine broke at work and I had to do everything manually." still, he has my number and could have called. I think, Does he hate me? but then he comes over and flirts with me!!!! Arg!

Maybe he didn't know it was a date? I was the only one without a date, and I had to make all the food. I felt like a catering service. Applesauce cornbread from scratch, apple pies from scratch, and marinated barbequed chicken. All for other people! When, I asked him, I didn't want to sound forward, so I said "My roommates and I are having this barbeque and inviting guys, would you like to come over?" Maybe if I just kept flirting back for awhile, and then tried to get him to ask me? Like, "Well, I gotta run, but it was nice talking to ya. We'll have to get together and do something sometime." Cheesy?

No, he's just a jackass. He could've called you if it was important to him, but he didn't. Maybe he wanted to see if you'd change the barbeque time for him (that controlling S.O.B.). Maybe he's just some nutjob and you dodged that bullet and don't realize yet how lucky you were.

You're not really considering giving him a second chance, are you? C'mon, you can do better.

He's either:
A) An insensitive clod, or
B) A flake

In his defense, he did say he might not make it. Sounds like he knew he was going to blow you off, though.

You should leave him on your cell only so his name pops up when he call so you know not to answer.

Both men and women can be confusing. If you don't understand the message he's sending clearly, maybe you should re-adjust your antenna.
