You should get a female first. A female should be at least 2 years old before you breed her. Then you can get your male puppy. Wait until he is 8 months old or more before you breed them. AKC won't register a litter if the male is under 8 months old. People shouldn't get down on your for asking this question. If you need anymore help just let me know. I breed dogs and when it comes to question about that there is no stupid question just stupid answers from some people.

First, you should read about responsible breeding. As people have mentioned in previous answers, it's not a source of great profits, if done responsibly.

If you still want to breed dogs, then I think you should aquire the female first, and depending on the age of the female, wait until the female is nearing or at breeding age before bringing in a male puppy. This way, the female has some time even beyond the minimum breeding age. Breeding a female too early can cause problems, however, it's not going to cause any problems for the male to make the attempt before he's actually able to do the deed.

I'm not an experienced dog breeder but I don't think it honestly matters. If you are breeding dogs because you love them, I would them adopt them from the pound. If you are trying to make money and you already have a job then breeding is a good way to make it. But don't start breeding because you need a job. I would get a job that pays well and then start. These are just my opinions and you don't have to listen to anything I say.

Neither since you seem to be buying them only to breed. You don't deserve to have an animal. If you're looking for $$$$ try getting a job. If you breed the right way you will break even or pay more than you put out in the first place.

If you can afford it buy them both at the same time. I bought my female, Salsa, then my male, Pancho Villa about 9 months later. Salsa hates it when Pancho gets attention. Pancho doesn't mind it if Salsa gets attention though. If I were to do it again I would buy them both or I would by the male first. If you buy them at the same time then the potty training can get over with sooner. I think I just got Salsa well trained then had to start with Pancho.

Don't Breed or Buy while shelter animals DIE....leave it to the professionals....adopt a couple of puppies and have them fixed....you will be just as happy

you should definetly get the male first because if you get the female first then you'll get the male and she will be attached to you and then she wont like the male as much as if you were to get the male and he will like the female better when he nos you and will like her better in an equal response to each other. you should not wait as long to get them because if they grow up to gether then they will have a better relationship! welcome
