My natural color is brown but I've been dying it blonde for years. The last time I bottle blonded myself I made the mistake of buying an ash blonde. Well, my hair had an orange tint. I can't afford to go to a salon and we don't have any beauty supply stores. What's a great brand of hair color and what's a nice color of blonde for me? Keep in mind, I still have this slightly orange tinted crap still in, although it's almost gone. Thanx!

Why don't you shock the hell out of your peers and go brunette for a month or so. Simply go to the drug store and get a LEVEL 2 box of hair colour (I'm pretty sure the Loreal in the blue box is a good one) in a shade of ash brown. The cool ash will counteract with the warmth of the orange, neutralizing the temperature of the hair. The other perk to this is that if you get a level 2, it is only semi-permanent. It will wash out within a matter of a month, fading to a more neutralized dirty blonde, thus leaving you with a nice NEUTRAL palliate to paint on.

Didn't you just ask this question a few minutes ago?

I understand that you don't have the money for a professional but if you continue doing the store bought hair color you are going to have spent just as much money and you are going to have a mess on your hands. An ash color shouldn't have caused an Orange tint. Ash shades are supposed to prevent that from happening.

That one guy suggested that you use a level two. I personally think a level two will be way too dark. Level two is a dark brown. If I were going to go dark, I'd at least start out around a level 5 which is a dark blonde/light brown color.

I think you need to go to a professional and let them do your hair. They have been to schools and they know how to mix shades so it will come out beautiful. In the long run, you are going to save money and the condition of your hair.

If ya ever get a color you do not want, wash it within 3 days w/dandruff shampoo as this will take out most,if not all of the unwanted colour. As for a good hair colour, Garnier Nutresse is good and smells real nice. Also nice and easy is also good.Try a sun kissed blonde color. Good luck

If you really screw up (you tried to dye your hair blond and it came out orange, or something) go to a professional to fix it. Re-bleaching and so on can really mess up your hair. Don't leave it to chance unless you want to risk going bald.

Light natural blonde. Try Loreal Preference. It's a top ranking product. http://www.beautyqa.com/top3.php
