Seems like when I am sick I go to the doctor, get a prescription, then there is usually no further contact. Shouldn't they be more interested in contacting me so they can learn if they gave me the right treatment? They never seem interested in doing this.

Note, I'm not saying it is the doctor's responsibility to follow-up. I'm just suggesting that if a doctor wants to improve their quality of service, they need some feedback or else they would never know if they are doing well. I think a lot of people will not call the doctor back if there is a problem - they will just get better over time, or maybe go to another doctor

It seems that doctors don't really care as much as they use too back in the good ole days. For example, I had to go to the Dr Monday cause I am having flu like symptoms, and my throat and sinuses are hurting me so bad so he told me I had a viral infection with flu-like symptoms. He gave me Histussin with hydrocodone in it and its made me sleep but hasnt helped with my symptoms. Well I have been outta work all week and on Wed I had to call him back and he then called me in an antibiotic for a bacterial infection and he told me I had a viral. I mean my legs, arms, head, throat, upset tummy, and vomiting is what I have been doing. They simply dont care and want you to come back and give them more money. Look at my situation. If he had given me the antibiotic Monday I would be much better by now. I completely understand what you are saying and thats my imput on your question. Yes it would make more sense to do that but they dont. good question.

You do need to move see your health care provider each and every 3 months with pretty much any prescription however chiefly sleep drugs in order that the health care provider can ensure that they're running as good as maintaining it managed e.g. you do not move off and promote all of them. Also you can not name for one on the grounds that of this you need to make a consult with that's a agony, nevertheless it makes society fairly more secure. So do not move off exchanging your health care provider on the grounds that of this.

Why don't you call them and tell them how things turned out? I think that doctors generally feel that if there was a problem, or it didn't work out well for you, that you would have called them. I doubt that they have time to keep track of every single patient and call them about every prescription, but I think you calling them would be a great idea.

How ideal that would be but unfortunately doctors see way too many patients every day and write way too many scripts a day. The doctors are relying on you to call them if the med is ineffective and if it is, you should call them. Good health to you.

That's where your role comes into play. If the medication doesn't take affect in the time the doctor gave you, then you need to make a follow-up appt. Them contacting you will be vary unlikely due to their schedule, be it because they're busy or just because they're lazy?

Because they know if it hasn't worked then you will go back for different treatment, doctors have hundreds of patients under them, if they went round to all patients seeing how their treatment was going then the emergency's will be put to one side and patients will die

We are each of us as responsible for our own health as our doctors are. If the medication prescribed doesn't work, the doctor knows you will be back asking for something different.

Doctors leave it up to the patient to ''follow up''. That is if their treatment didn't work, they figure they're going to hear from you.

Plus that would be really boring. I personally would not want to have to call all my customers to see if their draftstoppers are working out.

They don't have the time. You have to contact them if it didn't work.
