I think having alcoholic parents is more psychologically damaging. What do you think?

I agree that alcoholic parents are the greater evil of the two. There's a higher possibility of violence as well. Potheads are generally lazy, but otherwise harmless. I've recently had a few debates as to the evils of pot, and I haven't changed my mind. I still feel that it should be legalized, taxed ,and allowed for public enjoyment. The ONLY reason that it's considered a gateway drug is due to the prohibition that exists.
Alcohol, although legal, is a far more dangerous drug. It diminishes cognitive thinking far greater than any other legal substance, and increases aggression. Not to mention the health effects that it has on the body.

Alcoholic parents - there is nothing wrong with pothead parents, but alcoholic parents can be dangerous....they are also likely to live a shorter life because of the damage it does to their liver.

Alcoholic is way worse. My dad was (still is) a huge pothead and the only problems I've had with him was forgetting things like birthdays. I've had friends with alcoholic parents and they were verbally and sometimes physically abused.

Alcoholic parents are worse. Seen both sides and alcohol makes them crazy, unreliable, they stink, forget and can be abusive. Never saw any of that with the pothead parents.

Alcoholic parents have been known to be much more violent. I had a few friends whose alcoholic parents or their parents buddies physically, sexually, emotionally, and psychologically abused them.
Pothead parents, while also emotionally absent, are also more paranoid of "the law". They dont get violent because of the drug.

Alcoholic parents. You cant be around your baby with alcohol on your breath. Plus your impaired to do alot when your drunk That is awful there. Pothead. I'ma pothead. I do real good with kids. I don't have kids. But I spoil other peoples kids. Yup! Pothead parents nothing wrong with that I know alot of pothead parents, and they do real good with their kids.

i think it would have to be alcholic parents,cause alcholic parents get mean and beat the crap out of you,while pothead parents would just get stoned out of there minds and be mellow, either way, you look at it the child gets the bad end of the deal,unless you have apot head mom n dad who really hold down jobs and pay there bills, n love there chijldren, which i do have quite a few pothead friends, who r very good parents.

Alcoholics are by far worst. They neglect the needs of their children and are more absent minded to everything else. They are more likely to be abusive emotionally and physically -these are characteristics that are most damaging and hurtful to all children.

Alcoholic parents are by far more worse. Their mood can change to be so manipulative and mean as pot head parents are usually laid back.
