All i can seem to find is that additives make young children hyperactive but is there any other effects on behaviour from additives

I have read articles about kids' behavior improving dramatically after the additives were removed from their diets. From my own experience, excessive sugar can cause me to become moody too. Which is not good: I happen to like chocolate.

Anyway, some additives do serve a good purpose: They keep food from going bad before you can eat it. But on the whole I think we might all be healthier if we didn't rely on them so heavily.

There are groups that say yes and those that say no. It certainly will help them generally to give them organic foods. The most important things to keep kids away from (for behavior and weight reasons) are sugar (all forms) and hydrogenated fats. That means no junk/fast food and no sodas. I read about a school for troubled kids changing their menu and cutting out all that garbage and the kids improved so much they could go back to mainstream schools.
