There is a pleasure in the pathless woods,
There is a rapture on the lonely shore,
There is society, where none intrudes,
By the deep sea, and music in its roar:
I love not man the less, but Nature more,
From these our interviews, in which I steal
From all I may be, or have been before,
To mingle with the Universe, and feel
What I can ne'er express, yet cannot all conceal

i dont understand what is meant by from these our interviews in which i steal from all i may be...

pls help.!! thanks so much!

there is a strange sense of pleasure...(u might have felt at times),..u know the strange thrill of undiscovered lands ,thats what is the essence here that is being used...it is telling us of the happiness and the curiously enthralling feeling that we get by going though unwalked ways...similarly..the real happiness comes when we go on things undiscovered..we should have the will to do somehting new

it goes on with the same essence...there is queer enthusiasm on the lonely shores...where there is no one to celebrate with ,but still it is an enthralling experience...actually u shud have told the whole poem..how will we get the real essence otherwise? only words are not important ,but the feelings are also important/

the most organisation and togetherness is in a place where there is no one intruding...no one at all...there resides the society--the coordination of a successful life...there is the atmosphere of togetherness...such is humanity.
he finds society in nature...he finds his deepest relievance and scourge in nature
he loves nature
he says...taking the deep seas and its roaring (he takes the roaring as a music coz he loves nature and that is his music as well) ...taking these as holy stakes..to make believe what he says...

that he loves not humanity less...that he has left comapany of humans and has retired to loneliness...but he loves nature so much that its loneliness has no more remained a lonliess...bt has become a joy to him...his love for nature is so much that it attracts more than the company of humans

so he concludes that in this short interview(this poem) he has a feeling that he has mingled withthe universe--so serene and calm is he feeling right now..talking and describing his beautiful world...his words would be but a poor expression of the feeling that are seering though him

ok,...now u understand the essence of the poem...it was necessary to explain the whole lot so that u understood each part!

I think she's stealing time or stealing away to be with nature; she is using time that belongs to society, to interview nature. During an interview we come to a deeper understanding of the other party and we interact/communitcate until we have exposed hidden elements. In that same sense I believe she is interacting with nature so that she can find this hidden pleasures and rapture and therefore deepen her understanding and appreciaiton.

Good Luck

Sounds like this person loves nature more than they love being around people but saying this does not mean that the love people less. The person gets this from the many diferent experiences that they have had now and from the lives they have lived before in which they can not talk about in more detail because they don't remember them.

That is what is sounds like to me.

Perhaps rewrite it in more modern English and see if that helps?
From communing with nature, in which I run from all l might be in the future or all I was in the past just to mingle with the Universe..

I hope that helps!
I adore Lord Byron :)

Well, if you think about it, talking to people and to nature is sort of like an interview. You just have to listen to what is said in return. I think this poem is saying, he/she enjoys conversing with nature rather than with man. Maybe man hasn't answered this person's questions, but nature has.

These two lines arent linked together. They link with the preceeding and following lines.

From these our interviews from which I still. (This is the time spent in nature, soaking it all up)

From all I may be or have been before(This is saying that the time spent in nature has shown this persons true self, discovering who you really are)

It means the interviews with nature or how the person seems to call as his/her "conversations" with nature. He/she then says that from understanding the nature (having interviews), he/she has learnt who he/she is and had been before.

sure, whether that's their very own, yet regrettably they replica as mathangi madamji instructed. i'm not telling approximately any member, yet some individuals are freeing questions from dif channels each 5 minits, and consequently, that's perplexing for them to bear in mind.

as in: from our talks from which i take parts, thoughts, emotions of a me that i could be or from my past self.

atleast i think it means that. how ever, poems can mean different things to different people. thats the beauty of them i guess. so what does it mean to u? thats a more important question i think.
