Inderal is prescribed for a variety of reasons but the specific reason I'm on it is because of social anxiety disorder. Any side effects? Does it work for you? I haven't taken it yet. She said to just take it when I feel an anxiety attack coming on or before I go to a crowded place.

Ummm... I should've specified better. I'm wondering if anyone USES this and what their side effects have been. Not a copied and pasted analysis from google.

I've actually been taking inderall for quite some time. I take it as a supplement to my bipolar meds. As far as I can tell, there haven't been any serious side effects. But if I miss taking it, I get really shaky - mostly noticeable in my hands. (But I do take it every day, so that may not apply.)

Propranolol has been in use since the 1960s for hypertension, heart rhythm disturbances, and angina (chest pain) and it has been used for social or performance anxiety for nearly as long. The tablet form is short acting meaning 2 hours or so and this preferred over the capsule. If you have the capsule its onset of action is too slow to benefit you with periodic usage. The tablet should work in 30 to 60 minutes but this is somewhat dependent upon dose. It is fine to use it as needed but if you wait too long to take the propranolol your anxiety will increase to the point that the medication will not work. Propranolol for anxiety works best when you take it 30 to 60 minutes prior to entering an environment or beginning an activity anticipated to cause anxiety.

I was on inderal for migraines. I don't know if this helps but the only side effects I had were a lowered blood pressure and pulse (not harmful)
