Muslim Pride, I'm guessing you're not a Christian, so not exactly in my focus group. But thanks for your input anyway.

Get A Grip, actually, not, you don't have a choice. You can try to push your child in a certain direction, but like as not it won't work. I'm just trying to ask a hypothetical question, if you don't have an answer don't bother posting.

I would not have a problem if my child was 1) Gay 2) Atheist 3) Muslim 4) Pagan 5) Pro-Choice. I would love them no matter what they chose. They would be my child. It is ridiculous for 'Christian' people - and I have heard it myself - to say that they will not love their children if they are 1) Gay 2) Atheist 3) Muslim 4) Pagan 5) Pro- Choice...and my response to them is that they must not love their children. It is the place of the parent to support and uplift the child's decision even if they do not always agree with them. I pity the children who are born into a household where it is otherwise. For me and mine, it is a lesson of tolerance and love - in all things.

hmmmmmm I would rather have my child grow up to be themselves.I would hope my teachings of the Lord, will stay with them. However if not, the mother part of in says I would love my child not matter which of these decisions they make. If I would be forced or have to choose one from above I think I would pick #5, because this can be a belief they carry and I would be fine with that. I would not want them or myself to tell another women what to do with her body. I myself think maybe, just maybe- what if God tells a woman to have an abortion? How would we know?It could happen. We do not know what God is telling everyone. So should we take away God's will, No I think not.

Well,I would pick Muslim because its the same God as the christian God.
The only difference is Jesus is a prophet in Islam verses being the son of God in Christianity.
All parents want their kids to believe in what they believe.
I know what your getting at because most Atheists don't care if their kids become Christians or Muslims or Atheist like themselves.
I know to you,we seem evil for "brainwashing" our children into our religion.
I ask you this though;what wouldn't you do for the ones you love.
Don't you try to protect them from ideologies you perceive as wrong?
Wouldn't you safe guard your young one against things you feel are wrong?
Lastly,Following this train of thought,Say the child wants to grow up to be a Fred Phelps?
Do not parents have that right to decide what is best for their children.
What is the alternative?
Arresting parents for trying to teach them their faith.
If you go down that road,it leads to communism.
In my opinion,I don't see anything wrong with the way we Christians teach our children.
I am sorry if you disagree with me.
What can I say?
God Bless

What if I simply expected them to grow up making their own decisions on life? If they wish to be gay, so be it. if they wish to take another religion other than my own, good for them, at least they have found spiritual enlightenment somehow. Personally I'm pro-life, but if they want to be pro-choice, they are free do to so. As long as they aren't robbing banks or getting into drugs (I wouldn't complaing about a little marijuana, but as long as they are staying out of the heavy stuff like crack, meth, lsd, etc, I'm happy), or getting involved with violent gangs or something of that nature, my kids would be free to make their own choices in life. Thats how it should be.

By the way, I'm a Druid, and even though I'm not Christian, I felt like answering anyways.

If I had to chose I guess number 5. It's becoming more socially acceptable. All you can do as a parent is guide them in the right direction and pray for the best.

I would rather have my boys grow up to be Pagan. They would have a close bond with the earth and while they would not worship God in the same way as I do, at least they would have a sense of devotion to what could universally be called God (be that gods, a God, a force, a non-sentient entity, etc).

I'm not Christian (Pagan, myself) and I don't plan an having any kids, but...
As long as they lived a good life, I really wouldn't care what path they choose.
I'd raise them notably in Pagan faith, but keep them open to other religions so they could decide for themselves, as well as get a good understanding and respect for different culture.
If they wanted to be a hardcore-Christian, I would respect thier choice, as long as they respected mine.

Pro choice. It is ok with me. I can not make another follow my rules, but I can raise up my child as I see is best.

pagan -- the child would be following in the paths of our Ancestors who practiced Native American ( The People ) Spirituality which in many ways has a lot to offer even after modern times have come about.
