Do you think after you die that God is going to make you suffer in Hell if you were "bad" here on earth? It seems like there are a lot of different ones here that feel that way, I see a lot of questions here about that. I do NOT feel that way. I feel that God would NEVER send Good or Bad to burn in hell, that does not fit his personality since he is a God of Love. What do you think? “The living are conscious that they will die; but as for the dead, they are conscious of nothing at all, neither do they any more have wages.”—Eccl. 9:5 What do you think of this scripture??? Please look up the scripture in your OWN bible.

Dmd, look up that scripture in your OWN bible, its there for you to read... Its clear as water. The dead are not aware of whats going on AFTER they are dead, so what would be the point of being sent to a place to burn if you are unaware of it?

Yagman, check out my best answers, I have one supporting my why I don't believe we are going to burn in hell with a lot of supporting scriptures. So since there are are a lot of scriptures you will see its not my own thoughts (of course, I have come to this based on my reading and study of the Bible) but Bible Based decision.

If the Bible said people would suffer eternally in hell, then I would believe it, but I don't think that's what it says. It says "The wages of sin is DEATH, but the GIFT of God is ETERNAL LIFE in Christ Jesus our Lord. So, there are two choices here: 1)death, or 2)the gift of eternal life through Jesus Christ. We are not given the choice of eternal life burning in hell. Al the scriptures that sound like hell is eternal suffering are because the punishment
of being dead is eternal..........I say this as a Southern Baptist who reads the Bible for herself.

Look at how you have phrased your question. "I do not feel this way". "I feel that God would never".
With all due respect ultimately it doesn't matter what YOU think. So much of the controversy in religion comes from exactly this point. Everyone has their own opinion and they form their position upon what THEY think, not on what God has said.
Your interpretation of scripture is flawed. One cannot appropriately interpret scripture from one isolated verse. That would be like me telling my child to "Go down to the store and buy a loaf of bread. And while you're there pick up some beans."
Now if I just look at one statement, then I can deduce that all the child has to do is buy a loaf of bread. But to fully understand what I want my child to do they have to listen to EVERYTHING I have said.
You have conveniently chosen not to listen to the other things God has said. He speaks to us of a place of punishiment "where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth."
I agree God is a God of love. But love is only one of His qualities. He is also a God of justice. Scripture says He will deliver wrath to those who do not submit to Him.
I think you need to step back and through scripture begin to create a complete picture in your mind as to the nature of God. That God can be both loving and at the same time deliver justice in the form of reward or punishment. And His love does not in any way interfere with His nature of justice.

AWWw. this is soo true. i dislike it when they say that GOD has made a place of suffering and torment for"bad" people. i think the worst thing god can do to a bad person is make them not live at all. isnt worst to not exist? i think that makes better sense.what kind of father would punish their kids FOREVER and that kind of way? a firely torment! common.... most people cant even tell you were in the bible it says your gonna burn forever in hell. im glad you used that scripture.

I don't get the whole concept of Hell. Why would an omnipotent, omniscient, omnipresent God who has given each of us a soul and free will desire to punish us in an immaterial afterlife for "sins" by burning in a Hell which is spoken of as a physical realm of suffering? It doesn't make sense. Egad, I could elaborate, but the insanity makes my brain hurt.

No. He never wants anyone to suffer in life either. He is a God of love and wanted his creation to live forever. Our sins die when we do. We cease to exsit except in the memory of Jehovah.

God is NOT love. Love never gives up, love doesn't remember the times it has been wronged, love is not jealous. God is many things, but not love.

He doesn't want us to suffer. That's why we must choose him as our Lord and personal savior, so that we won't suffer. He loves us enough that he won't force himself or heaven on us. We suffer because we choose to suffer.

You are eternal and suffer as long as sin remains, even believing in death.
