Without acknowledging the grammatical errors...
It's a term that is used, like saying Holy Sh@t. We all know there is no such thing as holy sh@t. Well at least for the Pope's and Jesus' maybe. However, the Bible does teach you should not use God's name in vain. Meaning, don't call him unless you need something. It's like crying wolf.
In summary, saying "oh my God", while making reference to the supreme being, does not necessarily mean that you believe in him.

No! that is just a habit. People fear God and think they will be punished if they do not sing His name. But that is sad, because God does not punish or judge. He has love for every living being more than we love ourself.
The question is not does one believe in God. But what does one believe about God. He has been defamed and because of wrong beliefs people do wrong behaviour.
If we realy know God and His qualities we would never stop remembering Him and His actions. He is so sweet!

The phrase is so commonly heard here in the Western World that it automatically pops out of peoples' mouths. I catch myself saying it spontaneously even though I, too, am an atheist.

I say "oh my god" as an expression. I don't actually believe in god.
Likewise, when people swear "Jesus Christ!," Jesus is probably the last thing on their minds.

nope. some (dumba*s) theists beleive that if a nonbeliver (like me) says "oh my god" its an admission of faith or beleif. the thing is is that the term "oh my god" is nothing but a term.
i also use theterm "holy crap". am i admitting faith/beleif in the poo of god? no. its just an exclamatory term.

saying "oh my god" unless you're praying is just a phrase.
it doesn't make you a believer or a non-believer.

No, it is taking the Lord's name in vain. You should really try to refrain from doing that. He doesn't take kindly to it.
